Between 1978 and 1982, about 25 Cielo Mountain bikes were produced in the original King shop. This is one of those first mountain bikes, now permanently on display at the King factory in Portland, OR. In the early days of mountain biking there were no standard mountain bikes available in bike stores and geometry was shared among just a handful of frame builders. Early mountain bikes had slack angles compared to their road brethren and long chain stays.
