When we choose new colors for the King color palette, we start with an idea, like "let's add a green." But from there, things get increasingly difficult. We aim for iconic, the kind of color that turns heads or makes people say, 'Wow.' It's a very high bar, and one that can take a long time to reach.
So, we are particularly happy to introduce you to Jade.
Of course, Jade comes from the Earth. You can dig it right out of the ground, and humans have been doing that for millennia, from Japan to Peru and most places in between. Royalty (obvious pun here) has always valued Jade.
It's green, but it's a lot more than just green. It has a curious depth to it. The finish is matte, but still Jade glows. It has an iridescence, a liveliness, that's hard to pin down, as though every time you look at it, it's slightly different.
Some of our colors have clear purposes. Black and silver and a few others serve as elegant background notes for brighter frames. Mango and Turquoise are themselves bright accent notes for more subdued frames. Jade, we think, can be either one. It'll make a bold complement to red. It'll amp up a bright blue or pop beautifully with black. It can background purple, orange or even yellow (carefully).
We love Jade so much, we are not releasing it as a limited-edition color. It's part of the palette now. And we hope you love it as much as we do.
You can order wheels with Jade hubs now, or maybe a Dropset, a seatpost collar, or even a lockring.
