When Merlin Metalworks packed up and moved to Tennessee in the middle '90s, Rob Vandermark, their lead bike designer, had a decision to make, to go with the flow, or push forward on his own. With a core team from Merlin, he started Seven Cycles, pioneering the idea of fully-custom bike building on a short timeline. Twenty years and more than 30,000 bikes later, Seven stands in the vanguard of American custom bike building.
The keys to Seven's success have been their singular focus on single-piece flow, building bikes one-at-a-time from the best raw materials, and their investment in a large team of highly experienced bike builders. With more than 250 years of bike building experience under one-roof and a long track record of delivering great bikes, on-time and on-point, Seven offers the broadest product line of any custom builder in the world.
At the core of what they do are rider-specific steel and titanium tubesets, butted in-house, as well as an array of proprietary carbon fiber tubing that allows the builders to tailor ride characteristics for each bike. That deep level of customization, and the lifetime frame warranty that goes along with it, are what sets Seven apart.
