The funny thing about the Chris King Guest House is that the house wasn't ours. We were guests ourselves, of the inimitable John Caletti, who opened his studio to us and the rest of the goofy rabble we call friends and family. We wanted to get these folks together to show them our wheels, but as we ought to expect, most of them brought their own show-and-tell, with extra special mention for Simple Bikes and their custom, single-pivot MTB and Simworks' trick Doppo. Sometimes the bride's maid's speech is better than the ceremony, you know?
Chef Chris Cosentino made some food, like he does, and lots of backs got slapped and guffaws guffawed.
The next day, those of us who were up to it, spent 5 hours or so riding some killer trails out of Santa Cruz. By the time it was all over, a quick stop at Sea Otter cashed all our chips for the week.
As ever, bikes for the win.
