Classic Cross 700

Cyclocross is a pulverizing crucible of pain and torment. If you’re not cross-eyed after a half-lap, well, you’re just not trying hard enough. Or at least so says the entire country of Belgium. Even just washing up after a race tests the limits of equipment beyond what most kind-hearted bicycle owners will allow. So as the weather cools and secret morning rides form to practice dismounts and run-ups, we offer the all-new Chris King Classic Cross hub available in a ready-to-race wheelset.

Our Classic Cross 700 wheelset features time-tested Chris King sealed bearings. We make our own bearings in-house and our reputation is built on them. Most likely, you'll throw a couple of hard-fought 'cross seasons at these bad boys before the bearings need service. When they do need service, you can do it yourself with two 5mm hex-head wrenches, a penknife, and Chris King RingDrive™ lube.

The Classic Cross 700 rear wheel has same size hub flanges which, when combined with premium spokes and rims, makes for a very low dish rear wheel. (As with all of our Classic wheels, the front is dishless) Building 32 spokes into a three-cross pattern with low dish means your wheel will be durable. But all this talk of strength and durability doesn’t come at the cost of weight. At 1741 per pair, this wheelset is a magic carpet ride to the holeshot. With 19.5 mm constant diameter axles front and rear, you can bet that you’ll hold your line after that mad dash going into that first turn.
