Hans chose the colors red, gold, black and green to represent his charity as they are generally recognized as the colors of Africa. Hans' efforts to provide bicycles to those in need were first realized in Africa.

While Wheels4Life's outreach now extends beyond Africa to Asia and South America, the colors remain important to Hans as a reminder of the heritage of all people.
