Chris King 2Nut™

For 14 years, if you bought a Chris King headset, you bought one of these. Chris' early reputation was built on this traditional style headset. He paired sealed bearing cups with a precision-matched adjusting & lock nut set and created a headset that could outlast a bike frame. Its durability proved itself during the rugged introduction of the mountain bike era in the late 1970s.

2Nut is the preferred headset for anyone using a threaded fork and quill stem in combination with headset spacers and/or a cable hanger. It is a popular headset with cyclocrossers and randonneurs.

After all these years, we’re happy to see custom framebuilders still selling new framesets tailor-made for the 2Nut. For some, it remains the preferred method, and we find it difficult to argue when Chris' very first headset is still going strong.

The 2Nut features stainless steel sealed bearings housed in aluminum upper and lower cups. Adjusting nuts and lock nuts are also made of aluminum. Three standard sizes (1", 1-1/8" & 1-1/4") are available in 9 colors.

Conversion kits are also available to convert any same size Chris King headset into a 2Nut.
